Central Valley Members,
As many of you may be aware, our previous President Elect had stepped down from position and thus created a void in our Chapter.
During today’s Chapter Meeting following James Boretti’s presentation, a special election was held for the vacancy of President Elect.
Mr. Tony Canizales ran unopposed and was appointed as President Elect and James Boretti, Region 1 Regional Vice President facilitated the appointment ceremony.
Thank you to all that participated in today’s meeting and special election; and thank you James Boretti for your presentation today on: ASSE Rebranding, State of the Region & Why We Join.
We will continue to have our Chapter Meetings as a lunch time event to better serve the Chapter community and as always, we welcome and encourage those that would like to serve in any capacity.
Proposed Amendments to Chapter Bylaws
Posted: Jan 02, 2018
This past August, ASSE members made the historic decision to change the organization’s name to the American Society of Safety Professionals.
ASSE members voted to amend Society bylaws to reflect the new name. As a separately incorporated entity, our chapter needs to hold a separate chapter member vote to change the name in our bylaws, as well.
To learn more about these proposed changes:
We will hold a member vote on these proposed changes at an upcoming meeting of the chapter.

Donors can establish a named academic scholarship or professional education grant fund through the ASSE Foundation. Scholarships and grants advance the safety profession and provide national recognition for the donor. The Foundation manages the administrative details of this program and works with the donor to provide qualified award recipients each year.
