Education/Certification/License: Masters degree, or equivalent experience in Behavioral Sciences, Education or related field.

Position Summary: Assesses and analyses management training and development needs. Develops strategic plans for development of training curricula, professional development and related consulting interventions. Conducts and/or coordinates the programs. Works independently with significant latitude to make decisions.

Qualifications: Extensive experience designing and administering education and training programs for a diverse client group with limited resources. Expertise in the principles of group dynamics, adult learning theory, consulting and training and development techniques. Previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills. User knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software. Must be able to travel within the United States 30% of the time. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Significant operations experience (5+ years) in managing in healthcare, within KP, preferred. Strong cultural change leadership, especially in Safety within healthcare environment. Demonstrable success in working in complex environments providing consulting services. Ability to thrive in a self-directed team environment. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver operational change through collaborating with organizational leaders and their groups to create systemic change and root-cause problem-solving on behalf of improving productivity and employee satisfaction through improving the human processes through which they get their work done.

Duties: Consults with leaders within the organization to assess, trend and analyze the learning needs of employees based on current and future strategic plans. Develops, implements and coordinates various training programs and training interventions . Serves as a master trainer providing training and coaching to trainers and learning consultants. Monitors, evaluates and makes leveraging recommendations about the cost effectiveness and quality of learning programs. Plans, advocates for and implements the deployment of learning systems. Manages, evaluates, selects, retains and brokers a pool of internal trainers, with diverse expertise to provide leveraged training of a specialized and/or technical nature. Evaluates, selects and deploys computer based training programs. Stays abreast of learning, consulting, training and development research including theory, motivation theory and new materials, methods and techniques. Performs other related duties as assigned by
management. May assist HR Operations Manager and other staff with special projects.

Other Duties: Provides on-site consulting services to Medical Center and Regional Operations, Labor and Safety leaders in the design and implementation of local strategies to meet injury reduction targets. Participates as a member of safety assessment team. Must be able and willing to travel extensively throughout the Northern California region. Collaborates with other functional areas such as; Patient Care Services, Consulting Services, New Hospitals Strategies, Learning and Development, and others to develop and implement region-wide and local strategies.

Part-Time Risk Control Analyst (Safety Officer) (6/8/09)

Summary of Responsibilities: With limited supervision, the Risk Control Analyst helps clients control their risks, comply with risk control best practices, safety codes and standards. Key Duties:

Conducts client on-site safety and loss prevention surveys and prepares reports of visits as required

Audits client members’ risk control programs as required

Assists in the identification of clients’ contractual exposure to losses
Evaluates client loss information and trends and prepares reports
Provides technical expertise, advice, and direction on safety matters to management, TPAs, insurance brokers, members, etc.

Researches and compiles reports relevant to risk management questions
Upon request, develops and presents workshops, training, seminars, etc.

Skills and Abilities:

Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business correspondence, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, codes and regulations
Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Effectively presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, and other third parties

Four year degree in related field or equivalent experience

Is making substantial progress toward, or possess one or more of the following risk control certifications: ARM, CSP, ASP, ACLM, COHN-S, etc. and/or a related safety certification: CPSI, CIH, CPE, CPEA, CIE, etc.
Must have good problem solving, analytical, and planning skills
Ability and willingness to travel

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 3-4 years loss control experience within an insurance carrier, or three years of insurance carrier experience and at least three years of safety industry or safety related experience.
Degree in a safety and health related field or recognized professional designation, including ASP, CSP, or OSHT is preferred.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and application of federal, state and local occupational safety and health laws and regulations. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of workers’ compensation insurance.

Environmental Intern (Temporary Position) (5/11/09)

Baltimore Aircoil Company is the world’s leading manufacturer evaporative coolers and condensers for large scale air conditioning and refrigeration applications. Our equipment typically goes into air conditioning systems for hotels, hospitals and office buildings. Our refrigeration equipment goes into wineries, packing sheds and dairies. Our principle operations involve sheet metal fabrication, welding and assembly.

Duties:

Assist with maintenance of regulatory compliance related to environmental, safety and health issues
Filing appropriate documents with Federal, State and local agencies

Performing root cause analysis and corrective action on selected issues

Design and direct Company safety, health & environmental programs.
