The position is based in Livermore, CA and will have responsibility for all EH&S activities in the Company. Risk Control Consultant (7/17/10)

Triton Risk Management is a risk control consulting firm providing risk management services to both private and insurance industry clients. We supply data and decision-support services that assist our customers with risk selection, improvement, and retention of business which includes construction, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, retail, and property owners.

Position: Part-time (approximately 30 hours weekly) Risk Control Consultant. Duties are to conduct a detailed survey and analysis for commercial risks of any size and/or complexity for all coverage lines including workers compensation, property, general liability, and auto. Flexible hours are available for independent contractors working from their home office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct assigned on-site account evaluations and provide on-site loss control services for complex risks having a significant degree of technical difficulty. Provide a high level of technical expertise in all lines of coverage to analyze specific protection needed for hazards and evaluate management controls for effectiveness.
  2. Provide supportive facts on opinion ratings, loss analysis and hazard/control ratings to private industry client and coverage underwriters.
  3. Provide professional risk control services to coverage underwriters by assisting them in evaluating and recommending solutions for loss reduction as well as the control of potential loss exposures.
  4. Provide a recognized high skill level of technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: construction / contractors safety, ergonomics, fleet safety, industrial hygiene / occupational health, product safety, property / life safety.
  5. Keep informed and up-to-date on existing laws, codes, ordinances, and recommended practices as they pertain to loss control and apply this knowledge to the surveys and services provided.

Independent Safety Inspector (6/30/10)

Visual Insurance Solution is an inspection service company that will be outsourcing inspections throughout the country. We are expecting to see business opportunities in the Central California area and are looking for independent contractors to handle the inspections for us. We will pay between $55 and $65 per inspection depending on experience and quality of work. Once you are at the business, the survey should take .5 hours (1/2 hour). Entering the information into our website and downloading the pictures should take another .5 hours (1/2 hour) on average.

Senior Safety Officer (6/30/10)

The selectee serves as a Territory Safety and Occupational Health Specialist and is responsible for administering assigned portions of the Safety and Occupational Health and Environmental programs encompassing a variety of properties to include: office buildings, parking facilities, maintenance shops, warehouses, and water treatment plants. Incumbent coordinates with other Real Estate and Facilities Management program owners to provide guidance in project planning for ergonomic office design, and life/safety code compliance. In conjunction with the Treasury Safety, Health and Environmental programs, and IRS REFM Headquarters Safety and Environmental Staff, the incumbent establishes plans and implements programs and activities to meet mandatory regulatory requirements or initiatives promulgated by the Department or Service. The incumbent provides Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Incident management at sites within assigned territory.

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related.

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression that demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of safety and health laws, regulations, policies, operational directives, principles and practices in order to provide guidance, direction and technical advice to IRS management and program oversight and technical assistance to IRS Safety Inspectors; knowledge of analytical techniques such as root cause and job hazard assessment sufficient to perform investigations of mishaps and site assessments and identification of injury risk remediation plans; practical knowledge of the methods, principles and techniques of ergonomics sufficient to minimize stressful conditions affecting employees in the work environment which may cause mishaps.  To be creditable, this experience must be equivalent to the GS-11 level for the GS-12 level.
